Search terms
A name, place, or other text entered into a sponsored search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. The private reference service does not claim to store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider may apply its own privacy notice, retention rules, cookies, and account practices.
Messages
An email or contact submission can include the sender's address, message, and details the sender chooses to provide. Messages are kept as needed to read and answer them. They are not shared outside the operating organization unless disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights and systems.
Technical Data and Cookies
Routine server and analytics tools may receive technical details when a page loads. This can include:
- IP address or an approximate network location
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- Referring page, when supplied by the browser
- Date and time stamps
Cookies or similar storage can help measure visits, remember settings, support sponsored search, and understand which pages are useful. Browser controls can block or delete cookies. Some functions may behave differently when those controls are used.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to keep the pages available, route a search request to the selected provider, understand which Ben Hill County resources are useful, diagnose errors, improve speed, prevent abuse, answer messages, and show advertising that may be relevant to a visitor. Security Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for information under the operator's control. No internet-connected system is completely secure, and no promise is made that transmission, storage, or a third-party service will be free of every breach, error, or attack.
Visitors Under 18
The service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor sent personal information, a parent or guardian may use the Contact Us route to ask that it be reviewed and deleted where appropriate.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and practical limits, a person may ask what personal information is held, request correction of an inaccurate detail, ask that information be deleted, or object to a particular use. A request should identify the information and a way to respond. Search terms sent to a third-party provider must be addressed with that provider as well.
- Ask for a copy of information held by the operator.
- Request correction of a wrong contact detail or message record.
- Ask for deletion where retention is not required.
- Opt out of certain optional processing, cookies, or advertising through available controls.
Notice Updates
This Privacy Notice may change when the service, legal requirements, providers, or data practices change. A revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date when appropriate. Continued use after an update means the revised notice applies to later activity.
